Re: NAS doesn't show up after holidays

Yes, disassemble & use a linux PC to get to the files.

Much better to copy them to something else.

THis drive is so problematic I have not tried fixing mine again, I'll get a MKV player instead.

That will leave 2 network store enclosure to go on ebay. :D

Re: Lost Original image

I guess that it would be interesting to see if the NS1 images can be used to re create the NS2.

And to find out what the differences are between the two.

Re: How to Recover data off from Lacie NAS Network Space

Firmware update worked fine.

It's when I later on turned it off that it stopped working.

Too late now to try anything else, I have already stripped it down & backed it up.

Re: How to Recover data off from Lacie NAS Network Space

Updating the firmware is what has finally made mine unaccessable & unresponsive to the on/off switch. :(

Re: HELP! drive full - cannot access it?

OK now I have started to back it up to a bigger drive. Tomorrow I start copying the movies off, that will take the best part of 8 hrs. Methinks its time to start it again, format it & start again. I will be trying the replacement drive stuff mentioned here once it's ready for it. Although, now is al...

Re: HELP! drive full - cannot access it?

Just before I went away on holiday, I found that I could no longer access it & so my house sitter has had no movies to watch :(

I cannot access the drive & now it does not turn off at all.

I will investigate further when I get access to a PC, I think I need to back it all up to another drive.

Oh dear,

I have upgraded & thought all was fine.

After a power down & reboot I can now no longer access it.
It just sits there.. :(

Re: Lost Original image

Thank you for those instructions, I too shall save them. What about the sizes of the partitions? are there any specific sizes that certain ones need to be? Also what if the disk your putting in is smaller/larger than the one the images were created from, can you resize them when adding the informati...

Re: How to Recover data off from Lacie NAS Network Space

Perhaps because we get stuck on no1. How would we do that when we cannot access it, when the config utility will not see it. And when many of us are not on V1.1.8 firmware. Any chance you could explain more what you do? What will the switching on/off do & is that a approved method of treating it (gi...

Re: HELP! drive full - cannot access it?

OK I have managed to read it using WimVI Although its not very helpful for me, it does not appear to contain any dates on what it logs. The end got cut off doing what looks like a scan of the files. 15:05:47:615 LOG_DB:upnp_folder_watch_add_dir /home/openshare/Movies 15:05:47:616 LOG_DB:watch wd=1 a...

OMG! This is the 3rd this has happened to this month....

Relax, its not the end of the world, however you are likely to breach your warranty as it means opening the case
(unless you try other ways).

I had that but mine is back working now.
