Looking for a spare EDMini v2 mainboard

Hi, The mainboard of my EDMini v2 died a couple of months ago and want to revive it (so I can give it to someone else for it's remaining lifetime), so therefore I was wondering if someone on the forums here has a EDMini v2 mainboard available and willing to give away / sell it to me? I've already lo...

Re: Linksys MediaHub

It seems that building a new uBoot is not totally necessary, because I've managed to get a 3.8.7 kernel booting on the NAS. I've taken the config of the RD88F5182 board, as which the NAS is identifying itself and that kernel is booting. The only bad thing is that uBoot thinks it's machine id is 20e ...

Re: pivot_root and starting services

I've changed the script in a way that the last line now contains the "exec /sbin/init" line and pointed the /linuxrc file to my overlay script.

All is working great now and the services are now being started from the bigger partition! Thanks!

Re: pivot_root and starting services

Thanks for the suggestions! I will try them tonight on the NAS to see if all works well, I'll let you know :).

The bug found actually works for me, when I log in, it sees the 20GB as root disk, although I understand why it's nicer to first jump in the overlay folder :).

Re: pivot_root and starting services

I already suspected something like that, but didn't want to mess around too much :)! The NAS has some variables for uBoot which cannot be set, that is in this case the "bootcmd" and wants the rootfs on either sda2 or sdb2, depending on the slot the harddisk is in (it has 2 bays) and sets the init pr...

pivot_root and starting services

Hi! I have managed to get a Linksys MediaHub running on Debian using pivot_root, but I have a small question about the way it handles services: It has a partition of 300MB (and may not be larger, else uBoot won't load the kernel off the disk), this contains a very basic Debian squeeze install with o...

Re: Linksys MediaHub

I contacted Linksys for GPL source code request, I want to know I they can deliver the used Uboot sources. If I manage to get these, are there any people here that want to help creating a new uboot for this NAS? I'm new to this, but would like to know how to create / build this myself.

LED triggers

Hey, I currently have the 3.7.9 kernel running on the EDMini and started playing with the GPIO LED a bit. I found this command which stats iostat every second and when there is io, the led flashes (according to trigger events supported) and stays dark if there is no io: iostat -z -d 1 sda | sed -u -...

Re: Linksys MediaHub

I managed to get the device working again! That results in Debian squeeze now being bootable on this device as follows: - First insert a disk in the NAS, this will let the NAS deploy it's software to disk and will reboot using that software. - I removed the disk, hooked that up to my linux box and c...

Re: Uboot hangs after enabling enaCpuStream

Never mind, upon shortwiring the highes address on the small chip after short wiring the big nand chip, it seems to work, I've given a "resetenv" and saved the default settings!

All is back to normal! Thanks!

Re: Uboot hangs after enabling enaCpuStream

I managed to work it out for a bit, when shortwiring the big nand chip and immediately the small chip, I get this: CPU : ARM926 (Rev 0) 88F5182 A2 streaming disabled USB 0: host mode USB 1: host mode Net: egiga0 [PRIME] Error: start and/or end address not on sector boundary The only problem now is t...

Re: Uboot hangs after enabling enaCpuStream

Did shorting A18 to ground or Vcc stop the box from loading u-boot? Also, did shorting A4-A15 too early stop u-boot? If not, maybe the pins are painted with some isolating stuff, or after all u-boot is on the other flash chip. What I did notice is when shorting the big NAND chip, the NAS won't powe...

Re: HP T5325; Vanilla kernel and Debian Squeeze

To have sound with Debian you have to set the alsamixer controls to the following: "Right Headphone Mux" set to "HP Right" "Left Headphone Mux" set to "HP Left" "HP Mix DAC2HP" unmuted "AB-D Amp Mux" set to "D Amp" "AuxOut Mux" set to "vmid" "SpeakerOut N Mux" set to "RN/-R" "SpeakerOutput Mux" set ...

Re: HP T5325; Vanilla kernel and Debian Squeeze

I've pasted the errors with all needed info on the Alsa mailing list a while ago, no response, will try another mail soon. And to quote an old post of mine, I've managed to get the soundcard working with some help on the ALSA mailinglists, I will dig up the mail with the settings that need to be ap...

Re: HP T5325; Vanilla kernel and Debian Squeeze

Hi, I hardly doubt this will ever work as the OpenElec version is compiled for the ARMv6 core of the RPi on which the t5325 only has the ARMv5 (and no VFP) core. Also note that the graphics chip in this device cannot be compared as with the RPi, the chip from the t5325 is a XGI Volari Z11 without an...
