Re: reinstall os in lacie

I can vouch for the firmware at plugout.net. I currently run it on a cloudbox and network space 2. It is pretty easy to install and can be achieved without taking the cloudbox apart, although you have already done that when replacing the disk. I cannot offer copies of the original cloudbox partition...

Re: Network Space not Booting

Apologies for not responding to your suggestion sooner. I backed up unicorn.db and then deleted it and rebooted the NAS. Unfortunately this did not remedy the problem. I have managed to rescue all of my data and have decided to give fvdw's alternative firmware a go on the NS2. I believe the issue mi...

Re: Network Space not Booting

OK, where I see nothing in OpenShare in the Lacie environment I am guessing this has failed to mount. I am not sure why though. Can someone point me to where I should look to see why the mount is failing. fyi, I am listening to music which is streaming from the OpenShare mounted in the debian chroot...

Network Space not Booting

Yesterday my Network Space 2 was not discoverable on the network. It had been up and running without any issues for a number of weeks. I tried a reboot but I was left with a constant flashing blue led. Reading previous threads this indicates that it is not possible to load/boot the kernel from the d...

@lauxiao

For some reason firmware 1.02 looks in "MyShare" and not "MyShare/Update"!!

Re: Reset Admin Password?

Hi Kea, Success! I opted for your second suggestion the password recovery option. Once I configured the email address and outgoing SMTP server the web ui then gave the password recovery option. At first I didn't configure the email correctly and so no email was sent and subsequently no entry was wri...

Re: Reset Admin Password?

Thanks Kea. Unfortunately I wasn't able to recover my current password. As you say /usr/bin/unicli --type=User -l lists all the user details including the sha1 password encryption. The decrypter link you mention is not a decrypter as such but a database of previously encrypted strings you can do a l...

Reset Admin Password?

Hi, Is it possible to reset the admin password (for the web interface) without performing a complete reset of the device? I am using Andreus' custom capsule and can still ssh into the box with root access. I tried resetting the admin password via ssh console but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks....

Re: Network Space Unreachable

I checked the router configuration and assigned the NS2 to be a Network Storage device which allowed a static ip configuration with no lease period. Unfortunately this made no difference! I experienced a loss of the NS2 this afternoon and looking in /var/log/messages I saw the following. From what I...

New Lacie NAS

Hi,

Can someone add a new category in the Lacie section for the new 'Cloudbox'.

Sounds promising 1Ghz, 256MB RAM

Thanks

Re: Network Space Unreachable

Thanks. I will check the lease period. I also did a general search on linux logs and system crashes so I have a little to be looking at for the moment. Will post back when I find out more.

Re: Network Space Unreachable

Any ideas on what I can check to identify the reason for no longer being available on the network.

Does the NS2 auto negotiate a new ip address if it disconnected and reconnected to the LAN?

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

Network Space Unreachable

Hi, I am having difficulty trouble shooting an issue where my NS2 is no longer visible on the network. I have installed andreus' custom capsule (thanks), and also have a debian chroot (squeeze) which runs logitech media server. Every week or so the NS2 is no longer visible on the network. I cannot p...

Don't know why it didn't work before: apparently the only difference is that I turned the sftp server off before updating.

Anyway, thank you very much for your suggestions.
Pleasure. I'm glad you have it working!
