Re: Debian Lenny on the NSA-220

Another tip for your /etc/apt/sources.list to keep Lenny as fresh as possible...

Code: Select all

deb http://archive.debian.org/debian-backports lenny-backports main contrib non-free
Do a "apt-get update" after adding it...

Read more about backports here..

Re: evdev

Problem solved by recompiling the kernel. If anyone wants a copy just let me know.

Thanks Mijzelf! Without your past/present help I would be lost ;)

BitTorrent Sync

Haven't tried it yet but it sounds great! http://labs.bittorrent.com/experiments/sync.html Below are the requirements so it should run on Debian Lenny, IIRC we have glibc 2.7 and the kernel is > 2.6.16 by a small margin :) Requirements Linux with kernel 2.6.16 (glibc 2.4) or newer on ARM/PPC/i386/x8...

Thanks for the input Mijzelf will try get the evdev module going. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and recompile the kernel, I guess it's about time to learn how to do it ;)

Will let you know how things goes....

Trying to understand udev

I tried to make my own udev rules to set a (missing) latency parameter for FTDI USB <-> Serial interface but I'm probably missing something... First I run udevinfo to get information... udevinfo -a -p $(udevinfo -q path -n /dev/ttyUSB0) ... abbrivated list ... looking at parent device '/devices/plat...

MDADM and fsck

Been trying to figure out how to run a fsck on the HDD from Debian but no luck so I guess I need some expert help... I understand that I have to unmount it first so I used... umount -l /dev/md0 But when running "fsck -f /dev/sda" it returns... fsck 1.41.3 (12-Oct-2008) e2fsck 1.41.3 (12-Oct-2008) fs...

Re: Debian Lenny on the NSA-220

Just an heads up if anyone else getting errors with apt-get update. My NSA-220+ have been chugging along nicely on Debian 5.03 and I haven't touched it for a while but today when trying to install some new packages it failed. Turns out that Debian 5.03 (a.k.a Lenny) reached end-of-life in February 2...

Mounting a NTFS USB-drive

After a few weeks of mucking around with Android stuff it's soon time for the yearly backup so I tried to mount an external NTFS USB drive by following this guide... http://beginlinux.wordpress.com/2009/03/18/mounting-an-ntfs-drive-in-debian/ After installing "ntfs-3g" and "libfuse2" the USB drive i...

Re: Good read about USB Flash

You could also change your initramfs to explicitely mount the rootfs as ext2. Thats probably the best option, will do that! ...if you don't look at the output of 'cat /proc/mounts'. Your right it did have an effect, just checked and it shows "/var/run" and "/var/lock" on tmpfs... ... varrun /var/ru...
