Re: Broken network connection and need to disconnect powersu

Hi Rui, An EMC filter filters High Frequency pulses out of te supply. It is filter with capacitors and spoils. Relative low cost. Re: Lacie 2Big seems to have died ... need help confirming

@Ari Your name looks likes Dutch or Belgium. In that case it is easy to provide. I have bought the filter at Conrad.nl (also well known in Germany). The filter is made by Schaffner art. code FN 2020-3-06. You can order it also by Conrad.nl link https://www.conrad.nl/nl/ontstoringsfilter-250-vac-3-a-...

Looks the same problem I had. I got a solution by trial and error and succeeded!

Re: Broken network connection and need to disconnect powersu

By trial and error I have found the cause. The problems vanished after I had installed an EMC-filter in the 12 Volt supply of my LaCie drive. HF-noise at the power supply must sometimes caused the breakdowns. It is a strange case because the drive is situated in a normal living room. Not an industri...

Logfile what has happened

Due to my described problem dated jan. 27. I am interested to analyse the logged date. But what is the name and where to find a logfile with time sequenced what has happened. I suppose that somewhere is a file where is listed alarms, accidents and use of the disk. I have already downloaded a map wit...

Broken network connection and need to disconnect powersupply

Since 2011 I am a user of the 2Tb 2Big Network 2. Occasionally I had the problem that the connection with the network was broken. Even it was not recognized in the network overview. The drive does not respond to the power switch to "off". I have to disconnect the power supply and connect again, afte...

Re: 2big drives sensitive for power fluctuations?

Problem solved!
I have changed the powersupply by another one and now the 2big2 Network is sill alive, without any disruption, after 2 month. Before I had sometimes 3-5 times a week a dead 2Big2.
Strange that the previous power supply incidently introduced breakdowns to the 2Big2!

2big drives sensitive for power fluctuations?

Very often my 2Big2 Network is not responding in my network. In that case, also it is not possible to switch off by the hard power switch, there is no response for to switch off. I have to switch the power switch to "off", to pull out the power connector, wait for some time, pull back the power conn...

Re: Factory reset for unresponsive 2Big box

About average twice a week I have that phenomena you described. The 2Big2 is not reachable and can't powered off by the switch. Only I have to do is to set the power switch in the off position and pull out the power connector. Waiting about 10 seconds push back the power connector and switch on the ...

Vanilla kernel and fancontrol

Thanks. Unfortunely I am not involved with kernels. I have to study how to do. And is there somewhere a tutorial "how to do"? But nevertheless, I am wondering that the 2Big 2 is mounted in a cool place. So it can't be a temperature item. Also it is possible to command into sleep mode. In that case i...

2Big Network 2 Disc is in idle mode still noisy

When the 2ig2 Network is in idle mode, it still produces a little noise. May be the fan,in that case is there need for? The power consumption is at minimum. Is there a method to switch off the fan when the 2Big is in idle mode?
May be other suggestions?

Re: Failed update 2.1.2 of the 2Big2 network Drive

A question to LaCie R&D: I have experienced the app and it works fine! But is it possible to add a feature to the app like remotewakeup by internet? It would be great if that could be combined. I have tried to wakeup by the website: http://www.remotewakeup.com/en/index.php but it does not succeed. R...

Re: Failed update 2.1.2 of the 2Big2 network Drive

Oke!
I did some research and had to read the help-tool before. First, the external access must be configured in the Dashboard menu. I had also to configure my route; port forwarding. But after that the connection via internet could be made. No problem at all.
Thanks for the app!

Re: Failed update 2.1.2 of the 2Big2 network Drive

@LaCie That should be a nice app. I have installed the app at my iPad1, but I could not get a connection. A question, is the app for LAN-use (that means to use in the home network LAN) or is it only useful for external access by internet? I tried to connect in the local network, but that is not succ...
