Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

Hi there... I have a few questions for you. 1. Did you only make 1 partition on each drive or did make all 3 that I listed in my previous post? The OS is looking for all 3 partitions. The sdb1 and sdb2 partitions must be set to the sizes I have listed and the sdb3 partition must begin at 9253440 but...

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

You need to download Clonezilla to install the image onto the first partition.

Yes what autourdupc said X2!

You use Clonezilla to put the image on the partition.

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

Sounds like a good plan. You will have to set up the 3 Linux partitions on the new drive prior to putting it into your Storcenter or else it will not recognize it. See my posts on page 3 for the partition sizes. Once partitioned and installed, the original operating RAID1 drive should rebuild onto t...

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

Well if one drive is spinning up for sure, one thing you can try is open the enclosure and swap the power connections on the hard drives. This will help you determine if the problem is with the drive or the supply. If the dead drive spins up after swap and the other drive that was working no longer ...

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

I assume that since you can ping the Storcenter it is powering up. What status lights are you gettng on the front of the unit (blinking blue, blinking red, solid red...). If you put your ear to it, can you hear the drives spin up when you turn it on? When you first boot it up the drives will spin up...

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

Well thanks to the help of autourdupc, my Storcenter is up and running again and has actually been updated to a 1.5 TB Raid 1 array instead of a 500mb Raid 1 array. I think my problem actually came from I never changed the factory drive RAID setting from 0 to 1. I went for capacity over redundancy/s...

Also, you need to get Clonezilla. The IOmega folder only contains the partition image and nothing else, Clonezilla is what images that to the drive.
What size and type should I make the the partition?

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

OK so i have been going over the wiki and previous posts but I have some questions. It looks like I have to partition each hard drive into 3 different partitions in linux but I am not sure on the size and type of the 3 partitions. The wiki shows it in blocks not Gb and the types for each doesnt matc...

Do I just make a standard Linux boot disk in order to create the partition?

Re: Storcenter Network - 1T (2x500 Go)

Hi there! I find myself in the same boat as many other on this forum. Both drives in my iomega storcenter nhdd2m (1tb 2 drive, non ix2) died with the click of death and no response from ioMega. Is there a step by step get the OS partions back on the drives? I too am a windoze slave and not too Linux...
