Just checking I understand right: So you'd use the one NAS as a backup of the other? If the NAS automatically creates folders on the drive, you can change/delete them via the NAS's OS (just browse to the NAS's IP). And you can access the NAS via Explorer by going to 'Network' (right under 'My Comput...

Best to get drives that are designed for 24x7 operation (WD Red / Seagate NAS / etc). If you want better performance than this (a noticeable difference at least) try enterprise drives.
