Re: Best way to copy Lacie firmware onto another hard drive

I finally did it! I was able to copy the Lacie original firmware from a 2TB to a 256GB drive. Thanks to those who showed some interest and at least read my posts. My problem is now solved. Could you explain please step by step how? Thanks! Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I'm working abroad at the mom...

Re: Replace 3Tb disk with another 1Tb... but Original Firm ¿

Hi. I could successfully copy the original Lacie firmware. It's quite simple but it involves a few steps.
Unfortunately, I'm working abroad at the moment and all the instructions and files are in my PC at home.

Re: Best way to copy Lacie firmware onto another hard drive

Now I can get access to the web interface but there are no folders and the red led is on. I'm assuming there is something wrong with the file system. I did everything on a mac.
Does anyone know how I can format the partition properly?
Thanks.

Best way to copy Lacie firmware onto another hard drive

Hi! I have a Lacie Cloudbox 2TB with the original Lacie firmware in it. Is there a way of copying this onto another hard drive? Tried to copy it but I wasn't successful. Took out the hard drive and using a sata-usb, I plugged it to my mac. Copied the first 5GB with dd command and then copied the ima...

Re: Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

Yes, I did. The first output was after the reset command.

Yes, Lacie software was limited. I'll give fvdw-sl a go, then.

Re: Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

Is it possible to have the original/factory software from Lacie running again?

Or should I go for a third party firmware?

To prevent any other disasters, can you point me what should I use?

Re: Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

Since my old hard drive is toast, I'm using a Seagate 160GB. Tried to recover using Lacie Network Assistant but can't do nothing with it. It seems to me that it's expecting something/some files from the hard drive. This is the output: _ ____ _ | | __ _ / ___(_) ___ | | / _V | | | |/ _ \ | |__ | (_| ...

Re: Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

So, I got your files. Thank you for that. Tried a couple of times yesterday on my mac but I was always getting the "xmodem protocol error". Today I had access to an ubuntu box and I got something out from that thing. Unfortunately, after all the process, the terminal is stuck and it doesn't accept a...

Re: Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

Thanks for your reply. I believe that when you say uart, you mean the serial port, right? http://lacie.nas-central.org/wiki/Serial_port_(Network_space_2) I could get a kwboot copy to work on my mac os. But one of the parameters is the file to upload. The problem relies here. Where can I find these f...

Bricked - need to recover u-boot??

Hi! I have a Cloudbox white and the hard drive stopped to work. Lost all the data but I had a backup. The problem is that I've uploaded a uboot from a network space 2 into my cloudbox and now the only thing it does is to blink the front led once (blue) and the ethernet left led once. I have access t...
