Re: Confirmed: custom capsule script working on 2.2.3

In Ubuntu 11.10 did you run the script as root?

I'm not sure what else to check.

Re: Confirmed: custom capsule script working on 2.2.3

Yes that's my understanding 2.2.3 should correspond to 2.2.3.1

Did you put it in a folder "Update" in the existing MyShare folder? I imagine the folder name is case sensitive.

Re: Confirmed: custom capsule script working on 2.2.3

2.2.3 is the version that is already running on NS2. And you are trying to upgrade to the same version?

Re: Create a Custom Capsule (aka Custom Firmware)

@rimoth, that's strange, none of the users that upgraded Network Space 2 with the custom capsule had that problem, so that should only be in that version or lower. Updated the wiki http://lacie.nas-central.org/w/index.php?title=Category:2big_Network_2#3._Manual_Force_Update Yes definitely something...

Re: Create a Custom Capsule (aka Custom Firmware)

@Andreas, Thanks for the script. Success at last upgrading a Network Space 2 from 1.02. Didn't work with firmware 1.02 (tweaked to load debain chroot), so did a factory reset and still didn't work. Finally got it working - for some reason firmware 1.02 looks in "MyShare" and not "MyShare/Update"!! h...

Re: Installing Lighttp + PHP + MySQL. Please help!

If you install a debian chroot your original firmware remains intact.

As olivm says you can then apt-get pretty much anything without having to worry about dependencies.

Re: Installing Logitech Squeezebox server on La Cie networks

Hi Mark,

To be honest I don't think the Network Space has the power to run Squeezebox server. If you can afford to upgrade to the NS2 there is a thread on how to run Squeezebox under Debian.

Re: Lost disk, restore partition into new one

Hi tef,

You can use smaller hard drives just reduce the size of sda2 the user data area. Oh yes I imagine disks of the same capacity is a must.

Re: Lost disk, restore partition into new one

Hi tef, The disk images for network space 2 can be found here.... http://downloads.lacie.nas-central.org/Users/Mijzelf/Networkspace2/1.0.2/ I believe they are the same as the MAX. The required partitions are as follows... [root@NetworkSpace2 ~]# fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes...

Re: Squeezebox Server

Hi Patrik, I'm glad you have everything working now. Yes for Squeezebox radio and Touch the spotify app works straight off the internet without using your local server. I've only got classic Squeezebox3s so I will have to use the unofficial Spotify plugin which runs on the local server. When I have ...

Re: How to Update twonkymedia to 6.0.28?

@critzulescu Yes, my Samsung TV is connected via USB to NS2, and via LAN to HDD (both Lacie's NS2 and TV are connected to the same DLINK router). So, I can access from my TV (depending on what source I've selected): - if I select media server source (Twonky) - for movies, pictures and music stored o...

Re: Squeezebox Server

Hi Patrik, Excellent news. Good work in resolving the DNS issue. Does sudo apt-get update work now? It should resolve any dependencies. DNS worked for me without making any changes so when I installed squeezebox server via dpkg it then resolved all the dependencies automatically for me. One thing wo...
