SSH Access to NS2 from Second PC

I have password-less SSH access from one PC to my NS2, but when I attempt to setup it up from a 2nd PC it always prompts for a password. On the second PC I generated my ISA keys without a password and copied the public key into /root/.ssh/authorized_keys on the NS2. But it still prompts for a passwo...

Re: Debian Install

@rimoth: This might interest you http://sequanux.org/pipermail/lacie-nas/2010-September/000167.html It's not working yet, but apparently suspend to RAM is in the works. Thanks - good find. Looks like this will work somewhere down the line. Oh yes, don't go down the soldering line, soft hacks only p...

Re: Debian Install

Yikes. You're not wrong. This is starting to scare me! This is way above my head at the minute. Doing the install so far has been covering enough new ground. I think I am going to go back to the stock software for the moment and run a debian chroot for the squeezeboxserver software. At least that w...

Re: Debian Install

I have managed to get the hard drive to spin down by stopping rsyslogd, cron, and samba. However I can't seem to make any head way on wol. The kernel is stock lacie and therefore supports wol but ethtool -s eth0 wol g is reporting that it is not supported. Any ideas welcome. Also would be interested...

Re: Debian Install

I've had no trouble spinning down the disk or playing with acpi (although I only use it to control the power button).
This is on a NS2 though.
Brilliant can you post details on both of these.

I hadn't got round to doing anything fancy with the power button yet!!

Re: Debian Install

Thanks. I will do some research. I also need to get hard disk spin down working too. I found this fairly extensive article... http://info4admins.com/tips-to-spindown-your-hard-disk-in-debian-or-ubuntu If I can't get this and WOL working then I will probably go back to the stock software and a debian...

Re: Modify (flash) U-Boot on NS2

Thanks Mijzelf. That is good news, and seeing as it all works I will crack on with getting WOL working.

Re: Debian Install

I posted my partition tables in the thread..."Modify (flash) U-Boot on NS2". They are not pretty but work nonetheless. My next problem is Wake-On-Lan which I know the hardware supports as it was an option on the lacie software which I've just binned. Please don't say I should have enabled it before ...

Re: Modify (flash) U-Boot on NS2

I'm up and running with Debian after copying uImage-arm-kirkwood-2.6.36-rc2 to sda6. Incidentally the disk partitioning I managed to do through partman in the debian installer looks like this. Fyi, partman does not let you manually create extended partition but does it automatically for you. root@La...
