NFS share connection on WIN XP.

Post by strelok » Mon Dec 24, 2012 7:04 am

I have following issue:

There is NFS share on NSA 220 that was created using official Firmware 3.24

I have two catalogues:

On Win XP I have installed "Windows Services for UNIX Version 3.5" in order to have NFS client.

Now I see NFS share of my NSA 220 on WIN XP but when I try to connect it I'm asked login/password.

I don't have any passwords on NSA except WEB interface, as I know.

So, what is login/password I'm asked and how I can remove this authentication ?

Thank you in advance.

Don't know about Win XP, however, Windows 7 uses what was "Network Neighborhood" in XP and you should see them on your NAS in "Network Neighborhood". As for the username and password, it should be the same as the "Web Login".

If this isn't working for you, you should check the Administration page, Sharing Tab, Shares submenu, and make sure that the NFS is there, and that your user has access to the share. If it isn't there, and I can't recall exactly how I did it, but you should be able to create a nfs share that should link to the nfs system.

I use several Windows 7 and Ubuntu machines on my network and don't have any problems, except the occasional case of write permissions caused by one of my Ubuntu machines flagging a file as read only and not write-able.
