USB support & uboot

Post by Azkato » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:17 pm

Hi,

I have got a LaCie Edmini V2 and was wondering if it would be possible to build one of the latest version of uboot to take benefit of USB support ?

Thank you

Albert (aaribaud) is working on getting EDminiV2 support into mainline U-Boot.
For more details on the current state see his posts on the U-Boot mailing list.
There is also some oldish information on his site: http://tweaky.aribaud.net/?q=node/54.

Think very carefully before deciding to flash a new U-Boot.
You could easily brick your EDminiV2 and AFAIK there is no confirmed solution for recovering.

Apparently the JTAG connections I indicated in another topic only go to the Xilinx CPLD.
Albert thinks he has found other JTAG connections but AIUI he has never tested them.

AFAIK Albert has only tested a RAM based version of his mainline U-Boot.
There is therefore a risk that the flashed version may not even work :(

Cheers,
Chris

Sorry, I answer late because I've been abroad for 3 weeks :)

That's sure, I will think carefully before flashing my Edmini ! :?
