edmini v2 - messed up passwd

Post by jmoffeth » Fri Sep 03, 2010 8:38 pm

i bought a used edmini v2 320G sata
successfully i put the webshell script on /www/cgi-bin/admin
but i played something wrong with sed on /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow
and now i've no valid account (i cannot enter anymore in http://..../cgi-bin/admin/webshell)

i tried to modify passwd and shadow attaching the sata disk to another machine
adding a new password generated with
openssl passwd -1
but with no success

so, what to do?

other question: what images are these?
http://gpl.nas-central.org/LACIE/ethern ... on_images/
the lacie original ones? (please put a better README inside)

sda8.bz2 is a compressed dd image of the root filesystem
You can find a "fresh" passwd file inside:

Code: Select all

bunzip2 sda8.bz2
mkdir tdlmountpoint
mount -o loop sda8 tdlmountpoint

Do you still have this problem?

I could send you the original passwd and shadow file (slightly edited ofcourse). Mail me if you want them.
