"WOL"-flag &"halt"-flag

Post by gerdich » Sat Dec 04, 2010 1:38 am

I've seen by the Wiki and the associated thread that somebody was able to enable the "halt" flag.

Is it possible to enable at the same time wake-on-lan?

The I2C EEPROM contains a halt/reboot flag (7th byte) and also a WOL flag (8th byte).
However I don't recommend playing with the WOL flag :(
I haven't tried myself but ruben changed it (from 0xFF to 0) and wound up with a bricked EDmini V2 :(
He then had to use external hardware to change the WOL flag back to 0xFF again.
See this topic and the discussion on the lacie-nas@sequanux.org mailing list here.

Cheers,
Chris
