hi
My 2Big NAS drive suddenly started flashing red on the front LED, but both of the back LED's were solid blue- The Lacie support page doesn't seem to cover this combo!
I can log in to the NAS drive via Safari which is connected via my network to the NAS drive, and see my files - when I logged in, ( being a non techy) it seemed to be the network setting that seem messed up ( see attached screen shot)
Any ideas what is wrong, and what I need to do?
TIA

Re: Flashing red light on 2Big NAS drive
If that is the only fault you can find, I guess somehow you turned off uPnP support in your router. Which is no problem at all as long as you don't want to access your nas from 'outside'.
Re: Flashing red light on 2Big NAS drive
I don't access the NAS drive from outside of my home, BUT nothing on my home network can read the NAS drive which is a of course, a problem..
Re: Flashing red light on 2Big NAS drive
Oh right. So you can see/access your files via the webinterface, but not using samba? You are talking about Safari, is it possible that you only have Apple clients? In that case it might be some auto configuration problem. Network devices which are (designed to be) used in combination with Apple products (almost?) always run an Avahi daemon, to make it automatically accessible.
I must admit that I don't know how it looks at the client side. Never touched an Apple. When you say 'nothing on my home network can read the NAS drive' do you mean it doesn't show up automagically, or is the NAS also inaccessible when you enter IP addresses and such?

Re: Flashing red light on 2Big NAS drive
Sorry, I've made a mistake - my Media server ( windows home theatre based) can find the NAS drive, so..
It looks like the flashing RED light indicates a networking communications error- which has prevented it being found by my iMac and macbook
Any mac networkings laCie specialists out there?

Re: Flashing red light on 2Big NAS drive
Solved it.
The flashing red front light means one of the 2 hard drives ( Seagate 3tb) has failed. The HD and caddy are being returned to laCie for repair/replacement under this warranty scheme
