Install SQuid on Lacie Network Storage

Post by hardel09 » Sun Jul 19, 2009 6:52 pm

Ipkg permit to install Squid 2.6 Stable 21. I've detailed on ssh subject how to install ipkg. Then run ipkg install squid.
But during install some rights failed because the group nobody does not exist.
Squid start (after setting some fields in /opt/etc/squid/squid.conf) but cache fail to run correctly due to bad rights.
I'm looking for someone knowing Linux for help (sure it is simple). I can help for first install.
The goal is to use it as cache and also as blacklist filtering.

Hmm.. A segmentation fault. That sounds quite serious. It should work on nslu2, so I really don't know how that could be fixed.

B.t.w., did you see this: http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/SetUpSquid ?

Maybe ask in #nslu2-linux on freenode (that's IRC).

Finally i decided to remove squid (too buggy, and no solution found).
I'm just testing Privoxy for filtering, and it seems good.
Just have to change config file to permit access from my lan:
listen-address 192.168.1.66:8118
