Problems after power outage

Post by PartisanEntity » Fri Dec 04, 2009 4:59 pm

Hi all,

The other day I had a power outage that lasted about 5 mins, but unfortunately it seems to have caused some issues (my assumption).

Since that happened I am no longer able to connect to my Network Space through AFP, only SMB works.

And, iTunes hangs when trying to play music from the NAS.

I have tried the "rebuilding" feature but that hasn't solved the issue.

What else can I try/do?

I am really worried that the NAS has been messed up.

The only thing I can think of is building out the disk, connect it to a Linux PC, and run fsck on all partitions.

I bought myself a 1TB USB HDD and will back everything up and then try to reformat.

Anyone know what the built-in backup feature does?

Does it make 1:1 copies of the partitions and their contents, or only of contents?

Does it backup both the publicly accesible and the password protected partitions, or only one?

Thanks
