Help - changing permissions on NAS

Post by matsuli » Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:05 pm

Be kind, its my first post here!

I purchased my first NAS drive on Wednesday (LaCie Network Space 2). Up until now I have been using directly connected firewire LaCie drives.
My idea was to move the media files from these firewire attached drives (iTunes and iPhoto) to the NAS.

So far I have managed to use the copy function on the LaCie Network Assistant to move my iTunes files to the NAS (by connecting the external via USB to the Network Space 2). Took over 36 hours for the 600gigs.

BUT my problem is that the folders containing the MP3s now only have read access and I can't find a way of changing the folder permissions on the NAS drive...using the gear on Finder doesn't work.

So when I now try to add new music to iTunes I continue to get the error message:

ALL ideas and suggestions welcomed!

Can you reach the same folder via FTP? Is it still readonly then?
