How to recover data (possible disk damage)???

Post by chacal » Mon Feb 06, 2012 12:40 am

Hi guys!!!!
I'm very pleased to find your forum because of the huge knowledge data base you have created. I've learnt a lot of my NetworkSpace v1 (1TB) I didn't know...
By the way, I have a problem with my disk. Last friday the NS return me an error trying to access to the data. I removed the disk and attached it into a PC with Ubuntu. The system recognize me 2 new filesystem, one of 999GB and another smaller. This one, the smaller, is accessible, and you can navigate through the folders, but the other one, returns an error.
I tried to mount the /sdb2 partition in my disk

Code: Select all

sudo mount -t xfs /dev/sdb2 /lacie
but after few minutes, it retuns me the following error:
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken
.

What can I do to recover the data??? Is there any "magic" solution???

Thank you very much in advance!
