Hi all

I have noticed that whenever my NSA210 boots up and connects to the network, the router its connected to via ethernet, stops working correctly, stopping all internet traffic. If the router is then restarted, all works again until the NSA is powered down and powered back up.

Is there some hidden setting of the NSA that starts a DHCP server or perhaps something that can block access to the router? The strange thing is all the devices can still be accessed over the network with the exception of the router. The only other thing I have noticed is if you access a wired device (directly or via wifi) and then login to the router's administration page, you can get it to restart.

The network configuration is:
BT Broadband wireless router
NSA connected to a switch that is connected to the router

Any clues as to what might be going on, would be gratefully received.

Regards

Andy

The only thing I can think of is uPnP. The NAS supports it to open certain ports (torrent, ftp, webinterface) on the router. Maybe your router cannot handle that? AFAIK you can switch it off on the NAS, and it should also be able to switch it off on the router.

hi thanks for the reply.

I have no found an option anywhere on the NSA210. Does anyone know where one might find this option?

Its becoming a little annoying having to restart the router every time the NSA powers up.

Thanks in advance

Andy
