Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
I would have tried it, but it REFUSES to upgrade, after a loooong upload:
I will try again after rebooting it.
UPDATE: after rebooting, it worked.
I can't see any differences, apart from Time Machine now working out of the box.
iTunes server is still BROKEN though. I can't access any file from iTunes (10.5.3) and neither from mobile.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
I tried 2.4.17 but my system became unstable: missing SMB shares, broken UPnP server, lost Package Management tab. So I downgraded my system to 2.3.33 again and I will wait for a better firmware version (see also viewtopic.php?f=235&t=5257#p22071). Alas, missed opportunity for Sitecom. My MD-253 is for sale.

Upgrade worked just fine, and was not particular slow. Had to restart it manually though before web interface started to work though, but depart from that its ok.
Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
Worked well for me.
After upgrade the Package installer and configurator does not work with IE. But it works fine with Chrome.

Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
iTunes is not working, Twonky does not save the directory, the admin panel crashes with IE, the discs are not in idle mode. This NAS is not good.

Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
Strange enough, with the latest iTunes (10.6.1) the NAS (apparently, see below) works again (!).
I read it was an Apple fault, changing something minor in it's network protocol, thus many NASes had the same issue.
Waiting for Sitecom to fix it would take ages, with 10.6.1 iTunes, the songs can be seen and open again, *but* the randomly stop playing and the network connection to the NAS is lost.
A minor improvement over the past situation: the NAS was shown in iTunes, but selecting it would cause the songs disappear after a second before losing connection.
Anyone got it working stable?

Re: Firmware release 2.4.17
I had this issue without DHCP. The server can't bind to an IP and complains. But changing /etc/hosts from:jantjuhh wrote:I'm having the same problem, is there already a solution?carogna wrote:FTP server cannot be enabled
