mldonkey and other optware packages: *working*

Post by bago » Mon Jan 03, 2011 2:12 pm

Hi all,

I just wanted to share that I successfully installed mldonkey on my rooted Network Space 2.

Here is what I did:

Code: Select all

cd /opt
feed=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs05q3armel/cross/stable
feednative=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs05q3armel/native/unstable
ipk_name=`wget -qO- $feed/Packages | awk '/^Filename: ipkg-opt/ {print $2}'`
wget $feed/$ipk_name
tar -xOvzf $ipk_name ./data.tar.gz | tar -C / -xzvf -
mkdir -p /opt/etc/ipkg
echo "src cross $feed" > /opt/etc/ipkg/feeds.conf
echo "src native $feednative" >> /opt/etc/ipkg/feeds.conf
export PATH=/opt/bin:$PATH
ipkg update
ipkg install mldonkey
I have to say I'm not sure at all that NS2 has the chipset supported in cs05q3armel, maybe cs08q3armel or cs08q1armel are better as they talk about glibc 2.5 and not 2.3.6 and NS2 seems to have 2.5. BTW mldonkey and other apps I installed with the above repository simply works (mldonkey logs a warning about different glibc but works).

That's really cool, thanks for the headsup.

If i only I could get packages for OpenVpn and a decent NZB usenet tool and i'd be really happy :lol:

I use cs08qlarmel on my NS2 without any problems, and also installed different packages
without any problems, thing to know is that i completly removed unicorn from my NS2
(it will put back any changes you made)

NZBget + NZBget webinterface are perfect for the NS2

MarkV: interesting! so maybe cs08q1armel is a better source. I will switch to it too! What changes does unicorn revert? The packages I installed are still there and have not been reverted... maybe because I never rebooted?

Wow, incredible!!!
If you want to switch to cs08q1armel branch you have to change the to variables to:

feed=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optwa ... oss/stable
feednative=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optwa ... s/unstable

Isn't it?

Another question is in mldonkey, how to change the temp download folder to sda2 disk? I don't find how to do it and temp files downloading are filling all the internal flash disk.

Thank's for all your work.

Small modification. If not, doesn't works:

Code: Select all

cd /opt
feed=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs08q1armel/cross/stable
feednative=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs08q1armel/cross/unstable
feedalternative=http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs08q1armel/native/unstable
ipk_name=`wget -qO- $feed/Packages | awk '/^Filename: ipkg-opt/ {print $2}'`
wget $feed/$ipk_name
tar -xOvzf $ipk_name ./data.tar.gz | tar -C / -xzvf -
mkdir -p /opt/etc/ipkg
echo "src cross $feed" > /opt/etc/ipkg/feeds.conf
echo "src native $feednative" >> /opt/etc/ipkg/feeds.conf
echo "src alternative $feedalternative" >> /opt/etc/ipkg/feeds.conf
export PATH=/opt/bin:$PATH
ipkg update
ipkg install mldonkey
