Using MacBook Air OSX 10.7.3; Network Space 2

When connecting my laptop to the network, I receive a dialog
'Message from Network Space 2'
Something wrong with the CNID DB, using temporary CNID DB instead. Check server messages for details.

First, what is the CNID DB and how serious is this problem?
Two, where do I find the server messages?
Third, are step-by-step instructions to follow to remedy this?

I'm a reasonably capable computer user (on the MAC) so I can digest a fair bit of terminology, but I need simple step-by-step instructions to remedy this. If you reply, please don't assume that I know where to go to look something up as, apparently, I don't.
