No Volume found even though all LEDs are blue...

Post by sToRmInG » Mon Jun 13, 2011 1:35 pm

Hi @ everyone

I've got the following problem. My LaCie 2big Network 2 needs about 10 minutes to boot. After this all LEDs are blue, so everything should work fine. In reality the only thing working is the dashboard which I can access through the browser but there the device notifies that no volume was found even tough the LEDs on the back are on and both hdds are spinning.

Does anyone know why this is happening??

I managed that the hdds were visible again, but only after a few reboots and as I rebooted another time the volume disappeared again...

I don't know what to do...

Best regards

I kind of figured it out. It's one of the hdds (Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS) which is totally broken.

Tested it with SeaTools (Dos mode) and it couldn't even pass the short test.

Too bad that you loose warranty if you replace the harddisk (B***s*** LaCie)...

Anyway LaCie support didn't answer (German support). Waited for 10 days as for now... Never ever LaCie again.
