How to make a share open for HTTP access

Post by andreus » Tue Oct 04, 2011 11:43 am

Does anyone knows how to make a share open to http access?

Example i have 5 shares, one of the is "web" and i want to be able to access: http://MY-LACIE-IP/web/.

I know 2Big Network has a builtin webserver (i think is lighttpd) since the dashboard is web served (http and https). So can we change lighttpd conf so we can have a share online?

Can it be done with root access?

Ok, i know now how to do it.

Just create a symlink in '/www' to the share you want '/shares/[YOUR-SHARE-NAME]'

Code: Select all

ln -s /shares/[YOUR-SHARE-NAME] /www/[YOUR-SHARE-NAME]
Then you can access through http://[YOUR-LACIE-IP]/[YOUR-SHARE-NAME]

Examples (ln -s /shares/web-server-share /www/web-server-share):
- http://192.168.1.50/web-server-share/index.html
