Iomega home media nas, Samba and symlinks

Post by ninjahamster » Fri Oct 11, 2013 3:04 pm

Hi all,

I've added an external USB drive to my home media nas and can create a symlink to it inside my standard Movies directory:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 Oct 11 15:39 TV -> /mnt/ext/USB_BUFFALO_External_HDD_k_1/DivX/TV/

I've amended my samba config so it allows symlinks and wide links:

path= /mnt/pools/A/A0/Movies/
max connections= 50
directory mode= 0777
create mode= 0777
follow symlinks= yes
wide links= yes
unix extensions = no
preallocate= yes
incoherent= yes
direct writes= 2
nt acl support= no
dos filemode= no
writeable= no
valid users= "administrator" "jimmy"
store dos attributes= yes
write list= "administrator" "jimmy"

and I can see the directory and access the files inside fine.

However I can't seem to copy a file to this directory, or save a file there - if I try and save a txt file it gives me an error about File Handles.

Is there something else I need to set to allow me to copy files to a directory i've symbolic linked to ?
