vpn pptp

Post by m1fun3 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 1:09 pm

Hi, I'm trying to set up a connection to a vpn pptp.
I installed:

Code: Select all

apt-get install pptp-linux
and configured the chap-secrets file and peers setting

when launching the command

Code: Select all

pppd call server
I get this result:

Could not open the / dev / ppp device: No such device or address
pppd: Please ppp_generic load the kernel module.

Someone can help me?

I guess you need a ppp.ko module, or something like that. Maybe you can find it in modules.2.063.tar.bz2, else you'll have to build it yourself.

I did this a while ago. You can find the thread here.
If you're too lazy to read through the thread, my tl;dr (from memory, mind you) is:
install these kernel modules:

[edit]You might need tun.ko as well, linked here.
