Fixed the wrong permissions in a second, thanks to telnet access. I'm a happy Iomega NAS user again :)

I have inadvertently applied the first update to my Home Network Storage NAS, when I should have applied the second one, as I think I am running 064 instead of 063. Now the web interface does not work and I cannot telnet to it either. Do I need to pull it apart to fix this? Also, how do I use the second, multi-version update, "enable_telnet.tgz.encrypted" file? I could not see how to use it within the GUI firmware update screen. Help!!! Thanks, Damian

My HMNHD is not available at the moment, so I can't give you exact instructions, but as far as I remember you can upload it as a firmware update.

Installed the 'enable_telnet.tgz.encrypted' file via 'Iomega Storage Manager' firmware update option. Process was very quick (5 mins) NAS uploaded file and rebooted, I was then able to Telnet in using the windows telnet client as nascentral user and then su to root.
