Hi I am new to the site.
My Iomega Drive failed earlier in the week.
I removed the drive and attempted to run it up on a Drive caddy - Nothing - So I concluded the drive was dead.
I purchased a new drive and fitted it today - I get a red warning light
I have concluded that there should be some firmware on the drive - it may also be that the drive may need formatting.
I have no experience with Linux.
Looking on the internet I see that you can reload the firmware via the rear USB port, if you put it on a USB drive.
However, I can't copy the firmware from the old drive - the old drive is fried.
I have no knowledge or expertise with Linux to do this.
Does anyone have the files that I can download and copy to a USB drive, and then do the install??
Waiting in hope
Gareth
HMNHD-T1XOR Drive failure
Re: HMNHD-T1XOR Drive failure
Not on the HMNHD. Only on more modern 'Lifeline' based boxes.garethj wrote:Looking on the internet I see that you can reload the firmware via the rear USB port, if you put it on a USB drive.
Installing firmware on a new disk (Home Media)
Re: HMNHD-T1XOR Drive failure
Thanks for that. Now I need to sort out Linux to create the disk!
