Something like

Code: Select all

cd /var/cache/apt/archives
 dpkg -i debconf-someversion.deb
and start apt-get again.

I hit the same error, but using dpkg didn't work for me. It complained about unmet dependencies. I was able to fix the dependency issues with 'apt-get -f install' instead. After fixing that and adding missing entries to /etc/shadow and /etc/gshadow, I managed to get the nfs packages installed.
