start and stop mysql automatically

Post by elzouavo » Thu Jan 05, 2012 6:22 pm

Happy new year to every body !!! ;)

Thanks a lot for this forum and the wiki.
I have installed mysql on my Iomega Home Media Network Hard drive.
Every thing works fine.

But I can't start the deamon automatically at startup.

I have copied the file "/opt/share/mysql/mysql.server" to "/etc/init.d/mysql".
I have done +x right to "/etc/init.d/mysql" file.
The mysql server start fine with :
/etc/init.d/mysql start
and it stops well with :
/etc/init.d/mysql stop

To start and stop automatically, I have done links /etc/rc3.d/S99mysql and /etc/rc0.d/K01mysql. to that "/etc/init.d/mysql" file.

But mysql does not start automatically.

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance

It works now. I have had the symbolic link S99mysql in rc2.d, rc4.d, rc5.d et rc6.d directories.

To install MySQL I have first installed Optware.
