Troubleshooting Slow Speed of IX2-200

Post by cocinasplus » Wed Oct 30, 2013 1:09 pm

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and IX2-200. Our system:
Version:
3.2.3.9273 2012-01-03 14:34
Memory:
242.97 MB

It has 2 x 1TB WD SATA Discs and we are running RAID1.

We have recently upgraded to Gigabit Ethernet - As far as I can see the IX2-200 has Gigabit ethernet capability and I turned on Jumbo Frames in control panel of NAS.

The NAS is solely used for accessing kitchen design files over the network - they are opened and then closed on the client PC so the NAS in effect acts as a file server. These files are around 3 to 5Mb in size. There are 4 people using the NAS.

The transfer speeds between PC's, e.g., PC to PC are around 100Mb/s - we are happy with that. But the NAS has not improved and runs at around 3Mb/s to 12Mb/s which is quite dissapointing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to troubleshoot this issue??

Thanks,

Ben

Did you also measure speed before turning on Jumbo frames? Jumbo frames only work if all components (switch, PC) also support jumbo frames.
