Hi,

First sorry for muy poor english. Can you help me with these questions;

we want to use the Ix2 to make backups with Backup exec 2010 R3 software from symantec.

1- What is the file system by default in the Lenovo Ix2? Ntfs, fat32..?¿
2- From the begining i had a lot problems to disable the raid. I need to use all the storage (6 Tbytes) and i have to restart a lot of times and load default values and finally i ve got disable the raid. I think there is a very important bug with the pool storage.

3- How can i replace the HDD? There is not information in the lenovo help book. I would like to know how can i change the hdd...
4- We have a new Lenovo X2 6Tbytes (2X3tb) with the last firmware 4.0.6.19294 installed . We can not join the ix2 to our Windows 2008 R2 Domain, we always get the same message on the ix2 logs "Failed to join the domain" we check the configuration and everything looks ok, dns, domain name.....security is enabled...

I get event id 5722 on muy domain controller just one time...i found a microsoft document to fix this but im still get the same error...

I'm not sure which ix2 you are actually using. Not an ix2-200, as it doesn't have a firmware 4.x. Maybe an ix2-dl.

1) AFAIK the data partition is xfs.
3) Hard. If you bought it containing disks, and the manual doesn't say how to exchange the disks, you don't have a 'diskless' model. The diskless model can boot without disks, and the non-diskless can't. Yet it is possible to install new firmware. The ix2-dl is a 2bay ez-media. For the ez-media you can find directions here.

I *think* that is the dl. There should be a type sticker on the bottom.

Support for Lenovo has confirmed that the operating system is on both discs, not in the internal memory. They told me that I can change one disk, but not both simultaneously. If both drives fail simultaneously I have to contact support to reload the operating system. I do not like the support from lenovo....:-(

Why not? Actually I'm surprised they don't just say it's not supported to exchange both disks simultaneously. If you have read the thread I pointed to, you know that it can be done, but not with only a mouseclick.
