ix2 change vsftpd.conf

Post by svg » Sat Nov 13, 2010 11:03 pm

I've gained ssh access to my storcenter trying to change the ftp port in vsftpd.conf. When I try to chmod or edit the file, it says 'read only file system'. Does ne1 knows the right procedure to fix this? Edits should not be overwritten on reboot ...

PS For those who don't know how to enable ssh: navigate to http://your-nas-adress/supportaccess.html

According to the wiki the ix2 has 32 MB flashrom, so I suppose the firmware is completely in ROM. This explains your readonly filesystem.

You could mount or bind another directory on it:

Code: Select all

cp -a /path/to/vsftpd.conf /some/directory/on/harddisk
mount --bind /some/directory/on/harddisk /path/to
Now you have your conf file in a writable filesystem.

For edit config file (such as vsftpd or appweb) try this:

__________________ start of script_________________

mknod -m0660 /dev/loop3 b 7 3
chown root.disk /dev/loop3
mkdir /tmp/apps
mount -o loop /boot/images/apps /tmp/apps
#___________________end of script__________________

then edit /tmp/apps/usr/local/cfg/vsftpd.conf

This works in ix4-200d to.

After you finish, reboot the router.

Have a nice day.
