Hi Everybody,

I am new to this forum and I hope to find some help for my "problem". I would like to upgrade the capacity of my old 5Big from 2.5Tb to 10Tb (5 disks of 2Tb each). In other subject I read about problems with completely wiped disks, but I also read (elsewhere on the internet) that replacing the original disks 1 by 1 would work. Then the system image would be copied onto the new disk. After the first disk was accepted into the array and the information copied onto it, the second disk could be replaced and so on until all of the disks were replaced. It just takes a long time (about 70 hours per disk).

Can you tell me if this procedure would really work or that I need to go the difficult way of putting the system image to each disk separately. And what brand/type of disk would you recommend (2Tb as I understand from LaCie that bigger is not possible)?

Kind regards,
Gerrit Jan.
