Openshare and myshare partitions under windows environment

Post by robbiefpi » Sun Jan 01, 2012 3:44 pm

Hi all,

we purchased this NAS for my company and we are under Windows active directory (AD) environment.

I want to setup some users (with some rights) to use openshare and myshare partitions.
I mean I don't want that browsing network resources in the IntraNet, some users can write on OpenShare partition of Wireless Space.

I tried to setup users but i can't proceed with any setup because the users I see (with properties in Windows for WS) is Linux user root....

I have no experience with this type of NAS.
can you help me to setup what AD users can access openshare partition ?

I read some other post in the forum, so there is cmd.php for settings in WS.

but I haven't find no documentation and so I can't proceeed to set up users in our Windows AD environment.

Root users can do it?

thank you for your support in advance

If it's possible its very difficult to add AD support. Missing Kerberos, pam components so not worth working, this device is for home usage.
