getting rsync to work

Post by undifined » Thu May 12, 2016 4:40 am

I encountered many difficulties with rsync,
first of all, it is odd that rsync is not available by default.

so I happily found and installed the metapackages.

i logged in via ssh and verified rsync was available

but then getting it to work failed every time,
first the protocol is outdated
then i found i could specify where rsync is

Code: Select all

# rsync -auvvz --stats --progress --inplace --no-whole-file --bwlimit=4096k --protocol=30 --rsync-path=/ffp/bin/rsync -e "ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no" /var/lib/libvirt/images/ root@192.168.0.8:/i-data/3717d9ee/public/VM/
a great tool to backup / distribute my virtual machines :D
