OK then, I will run your command below via serial and hopefully it will force flash from usb stick with correct firmware.
I'll try it tomorrow when I'm back at the office, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all your time and info so far :D

In that case an external kernel needs to be injected. For that you'll need a TFTP server. (Which is not an FTP server. TFTP is lower level). Google for your OS, you'll sure find one.

Your box expects the server to have IP 10.4.52.7, while the box assigns itself 10.4.52.165. So give your PC a fixed IP 10.4.52.7, or change the variables.

Hi again, sorry for the late reply, I already got a tftp server setup for other devices so it was easy and fast.
But, now, I boot the kernel from you, usb stick is connected, it goes through some steps and then stops. USB led stays green and sysleds blinks red.

That log contains more than one attempt, I think?

Well, at least that kernel boots. And the stick is recognized.

Here you see the usb stick probing and checking of the md5sum, which succeeds. So usb_key_func.sh is executed, which calls usb_key_func.sh.2, which does the flashing.
The problem is in the last line. The tool fw_unpack exceeds the available memory, which means something get killed. (oom-killer is out-of-memory killer). As we are very early in boot process, there are no superfluous processes, so whatever is killed, it's fatal.

The question is, why is fw_unpack using that much memory? Are you sure you are supplying the right firmware file? It should be a .bin file. You file might be a zip files which needs to be unzipped first?

/edit: never mind.
(BTW, that fw_unpack is a binary in the initramfs inside the kernel. )

All is looking fine from my point of view :D As you can see new flash (V4.75) was once again written twice, have no idea why .

I am so sorry, yes I am using ras.bin but during these days, connecting, disconnecting and moving the raspberry and the NSA + all the cabling + my laptop for TFTP seems like the NSA's HDD was disconnected :oops: after connecting it, reloading kernel from TFTP and booting, everything is working as it should
