Do you ever heard about kodi installation on NAS? I don't and that is logic, taken into account, that none of NAS's are equipped with GPU card. Otherwise it is not conventional NAS at all.

@Mijzelf That's a good point and link. But mind ARMv7-based NAS builds do not seem to have enough power to stream media contents apart from audio files. It happens I just checked the Plex NAS compatibility list and the three ARMv7 NAS in the list may only strem audio. So that's it.

Any NAS can stream video just fine. But an ARM NAS is not powerful enough to do transcoding. As long as your client accepts the encoding inside the video file, that is not a problem.
