Hello,

Last week I check the webmin of my nsa325, since quite a while, and noticed that there are just three packages listed in the firmware/packages overview. This is still the case now. I am using entware and there used to be quite a long list of packes.

Has somethng changed? Have I missed something? Can I check something?

Thanks for any help.

Do you have MetaRepository installed, or are you using the Entware stick?

Anyway, your system is somehow failing in updating it's package database. If you have MetaRepository installed you can look at the logs, in \\NAS\admin\zy-pkgs\MetaRepository

Hi Mijzelf,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have both MetaRepository and I'm using Entware, without a problem since Entware was introduced.

Do you mean ZYPKG_INFO.tgz.log?

ZYPKG_INFO.tgz.log mentions errors when it tries to rm and fetch some files on the NAS itself and when it tries to fetch http://ffp.inreto.de/ffp/0.7/arm/PACKAG ... G_INFO.tgz it also fails.

So do:
http://downloads.zyxel.nas-central.org/ ... G_INFO.tgz
http://ffp.inreto.de/ffp/0.7/arm/PACKAGES.html/ZYPKGS
http://downloads.zyxel.nas-central.org/ ... G_INFO.tgz
http://downloads.zyxel.nas-central.org/ ... tml/ZYPKGS
http://adrhc.asuscomm.com/ffp_0.7_packa ... G_INFO.tgz
http://adrhc.asuscomm.com/ffp_0.7_packages/ZYPKGS

all unreachable via browser as well, so is everyone having 'problems'?

Furthermore an 'tar: invalid tar magic'

I don't know what to make of it.

The ffp packages have nothing to do with the zypkg packages, and the ffp repositories don't provide a ZYPKG_INFO.tgz or ZYPKGS file. So remove the ffp repositories from your MetaRepository repository list.

This shouldn't be a problem, though. MR should handle the absence of the database files well. But maybe you removed all 'normal' repositories? The script should succeed in fetching ftp://ftp.zyxel.com/NSA325/4.70/zypkgs/ZYPKG_INFO.tgz (or something like that) and http://downloads.zyxel.nas-central.org/ ... epo/ZYPKGS.

Can you give some context?

I Haven't removed anything manually.
'tar: invalid tar magic' is mentioned in the log file.
MR isn't listed amongst the three packages that are mentioned on the packages page. So it isn't installed anymore, maybe? Or can I check through the MR webpage: mynasip/MR or something like that?

edit
webprefix reads:
http://localhost:59999/

entering that in the browser results in:
/i-data/md0/admin/zy-pkgs/MetaRepository/ Not Found

The interface is supposed to serve a (virtual) repository. So you can ask for http://<ip-of-nas>:59999/NSA325/4.80/zypkg/ZYPKG_INFO.tgz , which should generate a new logfile. (And a new ZYPKG_INFO.tgz)

Quote:
2: Fetch http://fr32k.de/FFP/packages/0.7/arm/PA ... G_INFO.tgz /i-data/md0/admin/zy-pkgs/MetaRepository/http___fr32k.de_FFP_packages_0.7_arm_PACKAGES.html_.tmp succeeded
2: tar: invalid tar magic
Apparently fr32k.de doesn't give a proper 404, but some webpage instead. Which doesn't have a proper tar header. Should be no problem.
Quote:
cat: can't open '/i-data/md0/admin/zy-pkgs/MetaRepository/BackupPlanner
': No such file or directory
I think this is the problem (or a symptom of it). Although I don't know how. It tries to open a file which shouldn't be there, and which has a newline in it's name. Some part of the database seems to be destroyed. You can try to clear the \\NAS\admin\zypkgs\MetaRepository\ directory, and retry to read the package list.

I cleared the directory and fetched the list again, but the result is the same: three packages.

Strange. Well, let's first clean up the logs. You can reach the MR page at http://<nas>/pkg/MetaRepository/ . Remove the ffp repositories, cleanup the MR directory, and retry. If it doesn't work, please post the new ZYPKG_INFO.tgz.log file.

Yes, it worked: erasing the repositories and emptying MetaRepository dir.

Thank you for the help.
