Zyxel NSA310S print server issue

Post by Davor1505 » Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:30 pm

Solved: Windows Printer via SAMBA works fine, but goddamn proprietary tool AppSocket/HP JetDirect does not work at all. This is why I love Linux.

NAS/print server: Zyxel NSA310S, frmware: V4.75(AALH.2)
Printer: HP LaserJet Pro M102aPrinter
Router: Huawei HG658 V2

Problem is printer is not responding via socket://192.168.1.100:9100 while attempt to print, and there is no active print jobs on NAS/print server

Hi I stucked with print server on Zyxel NSA310S fw V4.75(AALH.2) printer is HP LaserJet Pro M102a USB 2.0, my machine is Linux Mint 18 Sarah, with installed the most recent HPLIP, and the same printer works fine as local USB printer on that machine, and same problem is present on Windows machine and Android devices with HP printing service.

Router is Huawei HG658 V2, branded to local ISP, and works fine with Zyxel NSA310S as mediacentar and shared storage.

Whiile printer is connected to front or rear USB on NAS/print server service is up and printer is online, while printer is disconnectet or swittched off, printer is offline.

Problem is printer is not responding via socket://192.168.1.100:9100 while attemt to print, and there is no active print jobs on NAS/print server

Router is Huawei HG658 V2, branded to local ISP, and works fine with Zyxel NSA310S as mediacentar and shared storage.

I intend to access printer only from local LAN or WLAN
gw: 192.168.1.1
mask: 255.255.255.0
NAS/print server:192.168.1.100
port: 9100 is open

List of suppostet plug and play printers for NSA310S is not long:

HP LaserJet Pro M102a works fine on Linux, so is there any howto/tweak/hack to load unsupposted printer on NSA310S/print server
