How to clear download manager & dropbox settings and data

Post by malunas » Tue Jun 11, 2013 7:53 am

Hi,

I've played a little with a dropbox support and my NAS (NSA310) went into troubles. It got some issue and generated thousands of .torrent files. This causes download manager interface and dropbox interface to malfunction. Getting into download manager or trying to logout from Dropbox service hangs the interface. Restart is needed.

Is there any way to clear data and settings of download manager and dropbox service? Obviously it works with ffpstick.

I'll answer myself.

1. In order to clear dropbox settings you need to delete /i-data/.system/dropbox folder
2. In order to clear download manager data and settings you need to delete files: /i-data/.system/dservice*

Can you explain me how to do it, I cannot access to that folder in the NSA

You need shell access. If you install MetaRepository you can install Dropbear, and then use SCP to access the files. (WinSCP, if you are on Windows)

Thank you for the reply!

I'm a newbie... doesn't know where to start from, is there any tutorial?

What if I place the HD in a USB case and access in this way, is it possible?

When you have installed MetaRepository&Dropbear, SCP will give you full access to the whole internal file structure, including mounted external disks.

I mean, what if I remove the disk from the NAS, mount it in a usb case and access to it as a standard external drive

The data partition is an ext4 partition in a raid array. If you know how to handle that, you can mount the disk on a Linux system.

Hi Mijzelf, I'm back after long time begging for your help.

I've tried to install the Zypkgs, once I refresh the internet list I see the DropBear package and try to install, the NAS seems to hang... it doesn't install it.

I've try to "activate" Transmission, which is already installed, and it hangs too.

When I refresh the package internet list the Zypkgs packages disappear and I again see the pre-installed standard packages (transmission, polkast etc...). Even tough in the \\<NAS>\admin\zy-pkgs\ directory Zypkgs is still present.

What do you think?

Hi All, I bring back this topic to see if there's any workaround about dropbox to freeze the NAS.

Last time I couldn't clear the dropbox file using the shell so I had to format and initialize the NAS loosing all of my files.

Now the problem is back... I cannot log out from dropbox, nor I can make it working. So same problem, I try to access Dropbox option page from the browser and the NAS freezes, only solution is to reboot.

Any other suggestion?

Login as root user to shell (not admin) then execute:

Code: Select all

pkill dropbox_hook
mv /i-data/.system/dropbox /i-data/.system/dropbox_old
Reboot box, login to Zyxel admin WebUI.
Uninstall dropbox package.
Install it again and configure.

Thank you barmalej2, to access as root user to shell I have to install MetaRepository, right?
