iSCSI failure after RAID problem

Post by paulojvaladas » Fri Nov 08, 2013 1:13 pm

Hi all, I have a IX4-200d with 4 x 2TB drives config in RAID 1+0 with a 2.8TB iSCSI drive conected to a Win2008 SRVR
I notice problems accesing the iSCSI drive so i wento to check the NAS and found a faillure in drives 3 and 4!
I´ve replaced both drives and the array autorebuild itself stating all ok...
I then try to conect from the windows server but couldnt initialize the drive and the log stated bad blocks on the nas drive.
Using ssh to conect to the NAS I get:

root@NASYN1:/# mdadm -D /dev/md1
/dev/md1:
Version : 01.00
Creation Time : Fri Oct 14 12:38:08 2011

Array Size : 3865066880 (3686.02 GiB 3957.83 GB)
Used Dev Size : 3865066880 (3686.02 GiB 3957.83 GB)
Raid Devices : 4
Total Devices : 4
Preferred Minor : 1
Persistence : Superblock is persistent

Update Time : Fri Nov 8 12:43:17 2013
State : clean
Active Devices : 4
Working Devices : 4
Failed Devices : 0
Spare Devices : 0

Layout : near=2, far=1
Chunk Size : 64K

Name : NASYN1:1 (local to host NASYN1)
UUID : ad404c17:5a13acec:75fc19c1:9f2caf0e
Events : 1774263

Number Major Minor RaidDevice State
4 8 50 0 active sync /dev/sdd2
5 8 34 1 active sync /dev/sdc2
2 8 18 2 active sync /dev/sdb2
3 8 2 3 active sync /dev/sda2

Now in drive management I get Total drive size 9.10TB with 4x1.82TB drives?
I also get USED SPace: 4.63TB!

What can I do to get the data back? Our backups are not fully updated...

It looks like you most likely lost a whole mirror meaning your data is lost.
