I have been trying to set up an rsync from my local HD to my readyNAS and I'm having issues. Perhaps you can help me?

1) I have a Mac running Maverics
2) my NAS is an Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d
3) I have my NAS volume mounted over SMB and I have Apple File Sharing and Windows File Sharing as the only active protocols

My issue is when I have a folder deleted on the source side of the rsync. rsync complains that it can't delete the folder on the NAS since it's not empty. When I look in that folder I see that it contains the .AppleDouble folder in it.

I was going to use a program called BlueHarvest to remove these folders but it turns out that it can't because they are not created by the MAC OS but apparently by the NAS itself.

Does anyone have any idea how I can turn this off on the NAS? Or perhaps a better way to rsync to the NAS? Thank you in advance.

These files keep attributes of files and are written by MAC.
To disable, write the following at your OSX terminal.
defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true
