I would expect it to work. The main difference is that a >2TB disk needs a GPT partition table.I would like to know if i would be able to upgrade the Western Digital WD30EFRX 3TB Red HDD's.
You can check if the firmware contains tools to create that, or if the disks already have a GPT partition table. The tool could be 'parted', and you can see if the disk has a GPT table be executing 'fdisk -l /dev/sda'. If the disk has 1 big partition of type 'ee', it has a GPT table.
