Post by maozip » Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:30 pm

Hi,
i have an ix4-200d and I would like to upgrade to the Cloud Edition.
My nas is empty, I have already upgraded the firmware hdd to version CC38
and the firmware to Version 2.1.38.
Does anyone know how to do to upgrade to the Cloud Edition ?

I am curious to know if this is possible too. I just updated an ix12 at my office with the Cloud edition and would love to get some of the features on my ix4 at home. Is this possible?

Thanks

I wouldn't risk it, Iomega had too many bricked devices when they tried to do this themselves (there were instructions floating around the net until Iomega asked the various blogs to remove them because of the bricking).

As a side note I tried to upgrade my IX4-200d to the cloud edition and ended up with a bricked device, completely un-recoverable from a users perspective and I have done a fair amount of work on the IX4 with regards to disk upgrades and de-bricking.

Of course you may be a lucky one and it does work for you but the general consensus as far as IX4-200d upgrades is concerned is don't.
