Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can help.

I have been asked to help someone with an LG NAS N2R1. The issue was that the firmware they were using was working fine in a Windows environment, they then switched to MAC OS which was unable to read the NAS unless there was a firmware upgrade.

I believe they tried to run a firmware upgrade but have cause the device to behave strangely. I am able to see all the files under a windows environment, and get to the web interface. However the web interface now only has the DVD drive on the left hand menu (see image below) and there is nowhere I can upgrade the firmware.

No options available

No firmware upgrade

Is there any software that I can use to force the device to factory reset, or to force an upgrade to the firmware.

Please help I am really getting frustrated with this.

you can sort of do a factory reset by forcing enclosure mode. hold both arrow while turning it on, and only release the arrows when you see enclosure mode on the display. otherwise, pull the disks and wipe them from a PC and that'll "start over" too
