Hi There,

Im in the market for a new NAS i currently am running a D-Link 320 with Debian Squeeze. with Sickbeard and SABNZBD however the speed of this is terrible. so much so it seems to have issues streaming over the SMB network which often causes buffers on my player devices.

so im looking for a 2 bay New NAS that can run these apps but is a little more Nippy ive seen the ZyXEL NSA325 as a possible replacement, would this be suitable and a little quicker? can you link to me install guides?

or are there other NAS's at similar price points that may be more suitable ? are the Netgear Ready Nas's worth a look?

Thanks in Advance for the help!

Your box has an 800MHz Kirkwood processor, and 128MB ram. A ZyXEL NSA325 has a 1600MHz Kirkwood, and 512MB ram. So you can expect at least twice the speed, if the processor is the bottleneck. Have you ever looked at top, while the box was streaming and downloading?
BTW, Nzbget is more suited for low performance boxes than sabnzbd. Sabnzbd is actually a script, while nzbget is a binary.
