Connecting to remote NAS as a mounted drive

Post by rflook » Tue Jun 30, 2015 3:38 pm

Hi,

So I have a NAS at home which I can use exactly how I want/need. However I want to also gain access to my files from a Windows 7 machine outside of my home network. Now I can map to it in My Computer via FTP, but although this gives me access, the folders and files don't get treated like they are at home - for example if I right click on an MP3, I am unable to bring up a context menu to play it in VLC (neither am I am able to drag and drop the files into the VLC playlist).

Is there a way of achieving what I want?
