In one hand 5Big Network Diskless
I bought 5 new Seagate drives (ST4000VN000 firmware CC 44 from recommendation list).
And the quest was started. With 4 HDD's (4Tb each) volume size 16 Tb ( RAID 0) After adding one more 4 Tb HDD, volume decreasing to 1,1 Tb. (RAID 0) Place of installation and HDD number doesn't matter. 4x4 Tb - 16 TB total 5x4 TB - 1,1 Tb total.
I would like to have 20 TB (RAID 0 mode)

In another hand 5Big Network 2 10Tb.
The same situation. I bought 5 more new Seagate drives (ST4000VN000 firmware CC 44 from recommendation list). And guess what?
Correct... With 4 HDD's (4Tb each) volume size 16 Tb ( RAID 0) After adding one more 4 Tb HDD, volume decreasing to 1,1 Tb. (RAID 0) Place of installation and HDD number doesn't matter. 4x4 Tb - 16 TB total 5x4 TB - 1,1 Tb total.

LaCie support have no solution, except hardware fault, need to send for repair. Two different 5Big storages broke in the same way, not in same time?

Any solutions for help?

I think it is not a hardware failure but a limitation of the the raid controller.

probably it is a 32 bit one and with sector size of 4096 bytes the max volume (partition) size will be 16 TB
